Artist Louise Sandford with her prize winning graphite drawing Majestic Lionfish
 
 
Louise Sandford is a self-taught artist living in Portsmouth, Hampshire in the United Kingdom. She first exhibited her work as a teenager in a joint exhibition at The New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth. There her paintings were noticed by The Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society (PHAS), and at the age of eighteen became an associate member of the society.
 
The first year she exhibited a self portrait with PHAS in their annual summer exhibition. This work was highly commended by the society and The Lord Mayor. Since then Louise has exhibited regularly with PHAS.
 
Louise has also undertaken many private commissions and continues to do so, many examples of completed commissioned work can be viewed in the galleries.
 
In 2008 Louise's painting 'Duckling' was awarded second prize for the best exhibit at The Portsmouth and Hampshire Art Society Summer Exhibition. Later in the year her graphite drawing 'Majestic Lionfish' was awarded third prize for the best exhibit at the Portsmouth Open Art Competition.
